Woody Norris on Hypersonic Sound (TED 2004)
I just wanted to share an interesting video I watched this morning from the TEDTalks podcast. For those who aren’t familiar with the TED Conference, TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. The annual conference brings together great minds from around the world in these three fields to share what they’ve been working on. In this video from the conference in 2004, Woody Norris talks about his invention of Hypersonic Sound; an invention allowing sound to be directed almost as if it were light. It’s an amazing technology with almost limitless possibilities.
And to think, this was four years ago. Imagine how the technology has progressed (and come down in price) since then. I need to find out how commercially available this technology is.
