Have you ever read Maus I and II by Art Spiegelman? Its an incredibly well done graphic novel about Art interviewing his father about his experiences during World War II as a Jewish refuge. Art really uses the visual frames to evoke emotion and mood in a way that text alone could never really accomplish. I agree that Graphic Novels are a truly unappreciated medium.
