The following is an actual conversation had between my roommate and myself regarding the freshness of a certain container of milk in our fridge.

[Roommate]: Hmm… [mumble, mumble, mumble]

[Me]: What’s up?

[Roommate]: This milk has a bit of a funny smell to it.

[Me]: Oh? Well, what does the date say on it?

[Roommate]: I don’t know… 10/05/08…

[Me]: So almost a month ago then? [laugh]

[Roommate]: …
