My custom iPhone theme
![]() |
As my online handle suggests, I often like to do things just because I can. I’m not sure what it is, but I just like tinkering with things. There’s just something fun about taking something designed to work or function one way and changing or adding to that functionality. Additionally, I like that the customization you do separates that same object from its duplicates out in the world. That’s why I decided it was time to create my own theme for my iPhone.
Though I loved my phone from the very moment I opened it up and turned it on, the phone in its factory state is nowhere near as cool as it is in it’s hacked state. While Apple made an amazing and beautiful product, the community around the product is constantly improving it. I love having third party apps on my phone, but I often get annoyed by the less than aesthetic app icon choices the writers choose. Some icons don’t even fit the iPhones design and others just look hideous. Either way, I decided it was high time I create my own theme.
I was originally just planning on fixing the really annoying app icons, but quickly realized that I could make over the entire home screen and give it a personal touch that would fit better with my universal aesthetic preference of grays and dull colors. Thus, my custom theme “MoniPhone” was born. I love the new look!

Nice. I love the Safari logo
Yeah, I thought the FireFox logo looked a lot cooler and would fit better with the rest of the icons. My next step is to play around and see if I can rename Safar to “Webâ€.
I think you should let Apple see how they should have done it the first time.
Perhaps you could add a recording devise to it also. They need to have you work for them.

sorry, I didn’t mean to neglect your comment. As brandon pointed out, you’ll definitely have to get your phone to a pre 1.1.2 FW to do this. Once you have and you’ve jailbroken the phone, it’s a really easy process.
Once Installer.app (AppTap) is on the phone, use it to install SummerBoard. This will allow you to change themes. The themes them selves are really just a folder with a series of png files in it. Each png needs to be named the same as the app it’s supposed to represent. Install and use SSH to copy your theme to the phone and use SummerBoard to select it.
how we download some kind of iphone theme creator or somerthing???
As far as I know there isn’t a theme creator. I made my theme in Photoshop and then uploaded it to my phone (which is jail broken and running Summerboard)
